Warming Center Open - Power Outages
Due to the continued power outages in the area we have some local warming centers open. Please check on your elderly neighbors who may still be without power. The Lavins Activity Center will be available for residents to shower and stay warm this Friday, March 10th – Sunday, March 12th. The McKeever Lounge will be open with seating and television on Friday, from 10:30 am – 9:30 pm and 8:00 am – 9:30 pm on Saturday & Sunday. The Gymnasium will be available from 11 am – 9:30 pm Friday – Sunday. All locker rooms and family restrooms are available for use as well. Please stay safe and warm!
As well (SOC) Services for Older Citizens is opening it's doors during the power outage to disabled adults and seniors 60+ years of age. SOC will be open from 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. until power is restored to the area. For more information please call 313-882-9600
With the expected freezing temperatures over the next few days, if you are without heat in your home and if your water pipes are not properly insulated or heated you should leave one faucet on ( a trickle, approximately the size of a pencil). This would be advised when the temperature in your home falls below the freezing mark.
