Winter Weather Advisory until 01:00PM Friday

...SNOW IS EXPECTED OVERNIGHT INTO FRIDAY... .Low pressure located over the Ohio River Valley this evening is forecast to progress eastward. The low is expected to pass off the Delmarva coast early on Friday before moving out to sea. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 1 PM EST FRIDAY...

* LOCATIONS...The Lehigh Valley and parts of southeastern Pennsylvania eastward into parts of northern and central New Jersey.

* HAZARD TYPE...Snow.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...2 to 4 inches with the greatest totals at higher elevations above 700 ft.

* TIMING...Rain gradually overspreads the area from northwest to southeast late tonight between 1 AM and 4 AM. A quick changeover to snow is expected within an hour or two after the rain moves in. The snow may be moderate to heavy at times, with snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour possible, during the early and mid morning, which coincide with the morning commute. Snow will become lighter from west to east during the late morning and gradually taper off by early afternoon. However, lingering snow showers and snow squalls are possible later in the afternoon and evening.

* IMPACTS...Untreated roads and walkways will become snow covered and slippery when the heavier snow arrives. The snow will result in reduced visibility. Hazardous travel is expected for the morning commute.

* WINDS...Northerly increasing to 10 to 15 MPH with gusts to 20 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...Falling from the lower and middle 40s around midnight to the lower and middle 30s by morning.

* VISIBILITY...Reduced to one-half mile or less at times.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HUNTERDON ... MORRIS ... SOMERSET ... WARREN
