The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
March 8th
0709 Hours: Officer Ackenman investigated an auto burglary at Ray’s Sushi, 3100 Newpark Mall.
The loss is two computers and prescription medication.
0912 Hours: Officer Rivas contacted and arrested a 37 year old Newark male for possession of a controlled substance at the Silliman Aquatic Center, 6800 Mowry Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
0940 Hours: Officers responded to a multi-vehicle non-injury accident on Cherry Street at Smith Street. The roadway was cleared at 11:46.
1815 Hours: Officer Ackerman recovered a utility trailer on the 7600 block of Wells Avenue that was reported stolen out of Tracy.
1920 Hours: Officer Smith investigated a residential burglary on the 36300 block of Newark Boulevard. Entry to the home was made through a bathroom window that was left open a few inches for fresh air. The loss is three computers.
