Disturbance call leads to arrest of Newburgh man.

On March 7, 2017, at 9:42 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a disturbance in the 400 block of South Gibson in Princeton, IN. Upon arriving officers from the Princeton Police Department and Gibson County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the nature of the disturbance.

During the investigation Deputy Jennifer Loesch attempted to identify 38 year old Michael Payne of Newburgh. However Mr. Payne gave false information to Deputy Loesch in attempt to conceal his true identity. While attempting to identify Mr. Payne drug paraphernalia was found on him and he was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail.

At the Gibson County Jail Mr. Payne was charged with False Informing and Possession of Paraphernalia. He remains in custody on a $550 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
