The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
March 7th
1202 Hours: Officer Germano investigated the theft of a wallet and a checkbook from an unlocked vehicle at the Foxwood Town Homes, 6165 Thornton Avenue.
1310 Hours: Officer Slavazza investigated the theft of property from an unlocked vehicle at the Bridgeport Apartments, 36928 Cherry Street. The loss is a GPS unit, clothing, and other personal items.
1522 Hours: Officer Mavrakis investigated an auto burglary near Sears, NewPark Mall. The loss is a computer and a planner.
1548 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated a battery on a person at Starbucks, 5741 Stevenson Boulevard. The suspect, a 58 year old transient male who is known by the victim was not located.
1756 Hours: Officer Cervantes documented an identity theft case that was reported at the front counter of the Station.
2045 Hours: Officer Slater investigated an auto burglary that occurred at Harbor Freight Tools, 39155 Cedar Boulevard. The loss is two backpacks and a jacket.

You can view an arrest log that displays information about arrestees for the past 30 days. The log displays basic information such as personal data (allowable by statute/law) and the mug shot of the arrestee. Yes, you can see booking photographs and get to know those in our community who are committing crimes.
