Arson Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man has been arrested in connection to arson, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Michael Lee Edwards, 32, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of second degree arson, which is a felony,” Lt. Robin Grant said.
Edwards allegedly set fire to a condemned/unoccupied residence located at 303 North 30th Street, Gadsden. The fire was started inside a tea urn in the area of the kitchen.
The Gadsden Fire Department responded to several fires at this residence during the course of three days. Etowah County Arson Task Force Lt. Robin Grant and Gadsden Assistant Fire Marshal Heath Smith worked the case.
Edwards was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond for the arson charge. He also faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.
