(Etowah County, Alabama) An Altoona man has been arrested in connection to theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Marshall Tyler Green, 20, of Altoona, is charged with one count of first degree theft of property (vehicle) and one count of first degree theft of property, both are felonies,” Lt. Robin Grant said.

Green allegedly stole a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck from a residence on Durham Road, Altoona. Various items, such as a roll of stainless steel wire, backpack blower, toolbox and hand tools were in the bed of the truck when it was stolen.

Deputy Brent Rhodes spotted the truck and attempted to initiate a traffic stop when Green speed away and eventually wrecked the vehicle. Several other stolen items, from another theft on Durham Road, were found inside the truck after Green was apprehended.

Green stated to Lt. Grant that he has a drug problem and was ‘high’ on crystal methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana (spice) when he stole the truck.

Green is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $14,800 bond. He also faces several traffic violations.
