Advisory

Suspect in Residential Burglaries stopped in Moraga.

Yesterday, you received an advisory regarding residential burglaries in the Lamorinda area and the need to take precautions to prevent becoming a crime victim. Early this morning (1:00 am), one of the suspects in the residential burglaries was observed driving into Moraga. Through a coordinated effort between Moraga and Lafayette Police officers, the suspect was stopped and eventually arrested.

Although it is not known exactly why the suspect was driving into Moraga, it is fair to assume that he was not there to visit his grandmother or take a stroll in the park. Our officers likely prevented Moraga residents from being victimized by this suspect.

Although this suspect was arrested, there are others who are out there and searching for their next victim. Please review the information that was distributed yesterday and safeguard your home, business and vehicles. Please report suspicious persons to the Moraga Police Department (MPD) at 925-284-5010. For more information about how to safeguard your home and prevent crime, please call MPD at 925-888-7049.

Thank you for helping us to prevent crime and keep Moraga one of the safest cities in California.
