CMPD AND OC PROBATION CONDUCTED POST-RELEASE COMMUNITY SUPERVISION COMPLIANCE CHECK

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) collaborated with the Orange County Probation Department (OC Probation) yesterday, March 2, 2017, to conduct compliance checks on offenders subject to Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS), per the State Prison Realignment Assembly Bill 109. These checks were designed to locate and audit the activity of local criminal offenders residing within the City of Costa Mesa, who are under the supervision of OC Probation.

Officers attempted 29 residential home checks of offenders and contacted 21 offenders, 18 of which were classified as PRCS/Probation offenders living in Costa Mesa. The compliance checks resulted in three offenders being arrested for violations of the conditions of their probation and/or new criminal law violations.

Supervision status: PRCS Probation
Charges: probation revocation, under the influence of controlled substances

Male, 43 years old, Costa Mesa
Location of arrest: 600 block of Capital Street
Supervision status: none
Charges: possession of dangerous drugs

Male, 26 years old, Westminster
Location of arrest: 99 Fair Drive
Supervision status: PRCS Probation
Charges: probation violation
