This is a follow up to an incident which occurred on November 4th of 2016, in which a subject fled on foot from a traffic crash at West Washington Avenue & Monroe Street. After multiple interviews of several individuals who were involved in or who witnessed the crash, and the obtaining of other forms of evidence, the information was forwarded to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. On February 16th the state’s attorney’s office charged the suspect, Kyle D. Lewis age 31 formerly of Millstadt, with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Personal injury, a Class 2 Felony. His bond was set at $50,000. A few days later he was apprehended near Cahokia by members of the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department.
