Good Friday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 2/23/2017.

-1310 Avenue H, Levelland: Property Damage. A deputy completed a report related to damage at the jail reportedly caused by an inmate. The issue was repaired and determined to have no monetary value. An information report was completed.

-700 blk Avenue G, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy responded to a request to check welfare of an individual in the area. The person was contacted and transported back to a local residence. No offenses were reported.

-Hwy 114 at FM 2646: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to the area to assist with an individual reportedly having an allergic reaction while driving. EMS arrived on scene and transported one individual. The vehicle was released to a family member.

-600 blk 4th St, Smyer: Harassment. A resident reported to a deputy that threatening text messages were received. The individual was not able to meet with the deputy at that time and advised he would contact the Sheriff’s Office at a later time to file the report when he was able to meet a deputy.

-College Ave at Maple St, Levelland: Drug Arrest. A deputy contacted an individual after observing a traffic violation. During the contact a quantity of suspected methamphetamine was located. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the jail without incident.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/watches, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and directed patrols in areas of the county.

Jail population as of 8/24/17 at 0800 hours: 61 in Hockley County, 8 to be processed, 22 out-of-county.
