Jackson Police Department will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement this weekend.

Date:         21 February 2017

From:        Capt. Ron Adams

RE:           ACT Sobriety Checkpoints

As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of Jackson, the Jackson Police Department will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement throughout the city this Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on Sunday, 26 February 2017, from 0015 until 0130 on F.E Wright Drive at Ridgecrest Road Extended, and one Sunday, 26 February 2017 from 0200 until 0345 on South Highland in the 1000 Block.

During these Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement, officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways.   However, as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be vigorously enforced as well.

This project funded solely by the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office
