INCIDENT: Large fight at Monmouth University Party

ACCUSSED: Tyrell M Gibbs, Age 21, Newark, NJ

NARRATIVE:

On February 12, 2017 at approximately 12:24am, Deal officers were dispatched to 23 Atlantic Ave for a report of a large fight occurring in the background. While investigating the incident Sgt Vaccaro observed a subject that appeared to be bleeding from the head. While attempting to render first aid to the victim, the accused began to interfere with the officers who were attempting to help. The accused then became disorderly and refused to follow instructions of the officers on scene.

Due to the chaotic environment at the scene and the uncooperative assault victim, attempts to identify the accused that night were unsuccessful. Thru cooperating witnesses, Monmouth University Police and other investigative means, his identity was discovered. Gibbs was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing the administration of law. He was released on a summons pending a court date.

The assaults, criminal mischief to the vehicles, along with other violations are still under active investigation by this agency. Anyone with information on who is responsible is encouraged to call the Deal Police Department.
