The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH from WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT for Jefferson County.
A storm system will impact western Washington beginning this evening and lasting through Thursday. The storm will bring 3 to 7 inches of rain to the Olympic Mountains and 1 to 3.5 inches to the lowlands on the east and north sides of the Olympic Peninsula. Meanwhile... snow levels will be 7000 to 9000 feet lowering to 5000 feet by the end of the event.
The amount of runoff generated from this storm will be sufficient to put rivers flowing off of the Olympics at risk of flooding... including the Bogachiel and Dungeness Rivers.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
