Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 2/9/17.

-100 blk N. Avenue K, Levelland: Burglary Vehicle. A deputy responded to a complaint of a vehicle burglary where a wallet and a firearm were taken. The firearm, an AR15 rifle, has been entered into the state and national database as stolen. The investigation is underway.

-Cactus Rd at FM 3261, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a possible suspicious vehicle in the area. The deputy contacted a farm hand in the area that owned the vehicle.

-300 blk N. Avenue Q, Levelland: Theft. A deputy responded to a call related to a stolen propane tank. Information was collected for a report and an investigation is being conducted.

-Hwy 114 at Leon Rd, Smyer: Intoxicated Individual. A deputy was dispatched to speak with an individual wanting to report an offense he believed occurred in Lubbock. The individual was intoxicated, and was advised to contact the appropriate agency in Lubbock County to report the offense the following day.

-Owl Rd at Filly Rd, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to assist on the scene of a motor vehicle crash. Highway Patrol arrived on scene and occupants were transported to the hospital with injuries.

-6300 blk Bear Rd, Smyer: A deputy spoke with a complainant about suspicious activity in the area. No offense was reported, no report was requested, but information has been passed along to deputies.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Welfare Check. Deputies were dispatched to check welfare of children at a residence in the area. Contact was made with the residents and no offenses or issues were located.

Deputies also conducted patrols in all areas of the county, close patrols/vacation watches, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 2/10/17 at 0800 hrs: 47 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, and 27 out-of-county.
