Flash Flood Watch -City of Santa Cruz urges residents in low-lying areas to prepare for changing conditions and localized flooding.

Flash Flood Watch in effect now through Friday morning. The City of Santa Cruz urges all residents and business owners in low-lying areas to be prepared for changing conditions that could result in localized flooding.

Alerts will be posted on the City’s website and Facebook page. For those who have registered their cell phones, alerts will be issued via the automated notification system by Santa Cruz Regional 911 and from Santa Cruz Police Department’s via Nixle.

The City advises all residents to stay alert and use caution near moving water.

Community members in the Beach Flats, the Tannery, Paradise Park, areas near the San Lorenzo River Levee, and in other flood-prone areas are advised to move persons, pets and automobiles to higher ground.
