Police Blotter January 27th through January 30th

January 27th

Theft From Auto – 6800 block Snowden Ave:
Between 1/26/17 at 2200 hours and 1/12/17 at 0605 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a purse and miscellaneous other items.

Auto Burglary – Peets, 9895 San Pablo Ave:
Between 0555 and 0600 hours, an unknown suspect broke the front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a black wallet and cell phone.

Domestic Violence – 5800 block Cutting Blvd:
At 0755 hours, the victim and her 24 year old boyfriend from Antioch were driving through town and arguing about him smoking in the vehicle due to the fact she is pregnant with his child. The boyfriend grabbed the steering wheel and tried to make the victim crash and then began to push and shove the victim. The man fled the vehicle before officers’ arrival.

Robbery – 200 block Behrens St:
At 1039 hours, the suspect confronted the victim as the victim worked in his office which was detached from his main residence. The suspect simulated a weapon and demanded money. The suspect fled south on Behrens St and then westbound onto Cougar Field. The suspect was described as a 16-20 year old black male wearing a mask, jeans, black t-shirt, and a grey jacket.

Grand Theft – 7000 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between approximately 1000 and 1015 hours, an unknown race male suspect stole the victim’s Fixgear 700 series orange, blue, and black bicycle that was left unsecured in front of the business. The bicycle was valued at $1000.

Auto Burglary – 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 0630 and 1500 hours, and unknown suspect shattered the passenger rear window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a bowling bag containing a bowling ball and bowling shoes.

Possession of Burglary Tools / Drug Paraphernalia / Stolen Property – San Pablo Ave / Madison Ave:
An Officer conducted a pedestrian stop on a 25 year old male from Richmond who was found in possession of a meth smoking pipe, burglary tools and stolen mail. He was cited and released.

Warrant Arrest – Lucky’s 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
Officers were dispatched to Lucky’s for a report of a shoplift. They contacted a 25 year old male from Oakland who was found to have a warrant for his arrest. No theft occurred and he was transported to the MDF on the warrant.

Misc. Investigation – Potrero Ave / S.52nd St:
An Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle occupied by three males in their 20’s from Richmond. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer located two BB guns that resembled real guns. The BB guns were collected and the subjects were identified / released.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave / Potrero Ave:
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a female in her 20’s from Richmond for a warrant. Transported to the MDF.

January 28th

Arrest for Battery with Great Bodily Injury – San Diego Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 1208 hours, patrol officers recognized the suspect from the felony battery case at Nations on 1/21/17 and arrested the 20 year old male suspect from El Cerrito. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Grand Theft – 76 Gas, 3160 Carlson Blvd:
Between 1/27/17 at 2200 hours and 1/28/17 at 0800 hours, an unknown suspect cut his way into the propane cage and stole 16 propane canisters.

Petty Theft Arrest – Cypress Ave / S. 53rd St:
At 1312 hours, Officers responded to a strong arm robbery call and spotted the suspect at Potrero Ave and S. 53rd St. The 30 year old male from Vallejo was detained and positively identified as the suspect during an infield show up. It was actually determined the suspect stole the victim’s purse through an opened car window. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and released on a citation.

Auto Burglary – San Diego St / Belmont Ave:
Between 1330 hours and 1530 hours, an unknown suspect broke the right rear window of the victims’ vehicle and stole a carryon luggage bag containing cell phones, passports, identification, and foreign currency.

DUI / Collision – Key Blvd / Humboldt St:
Officers were dispatched to vehicle collision into a tree. The driver, a male in his 50’s from El Cerrito, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was transported to the hospital and cited for the DUI.

Warrant Arrest – Stockton Ave / San Pablo Ave:
An Officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a male in his 50’s from Piedmont for a warrant. Transported to the MDF.

Vehicle Pursuit / Gun Recovered – S.55th St / Cypress Ave:
An Officer attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield and led ECPD officers on a pursuit. The pursing officer noticed the passenger discard an object out the passenger door. The fleeing vehicle eventually stopped and the occupants (males in their 20’s from Richmond) were taken into custody without incident. Officers searched the area for the discarded object and found a loaded firearm with a high capacity magazine. Occupants were cited and transported to the MDF.

Warrant Arrest – ECPD:
It was determined the registered owner of the fleeing vehicle mentioned above had a warrant for his arrest. He was called to come to the ECPD and arrested. To MDF.

January 29th

Felony Battery Arrest – 1700 Block Lexington Ave:
At 0906 hours, officers followed up on a felony battery case in the 1700 block of Lexington Ave. Officers located the 47 year old male suspect from El Cerrito trying to sneak out the back of the apartment. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Burglary – 11780 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1/28/17 at 1800 hours and 1/29/17 at 0925 hours, an unknown suspect broke a front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a bag containing cosmetic samples.

Auto Burglary – 11780 San Pablo Ave:
Between 0130 and 1100 hours, an unknown suspect broke a front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a GPS and tire gauge.

Attempted Residential Burglary – 7200 block Mound Ave:
On 1/27/17 between 0745 and 1600 hours, an unknown suspect cut a hole in screen and attempted to slide open the window. The suspect then attempted to open a bathroom window but was unsuccessful.

Shoplift, Probation Violation, Resist Officer – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1657 hours, Officers responded to Safeway regarding a suspect who just stole food and left without paying. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. At 1733 hours, Safeway called back and said the suspect returned and stole more food and was now headed northbound through the parking lot. An officer located a 35 year old man from Richmond at Del Norte BART and tried to detain him. The suspect refused to stop and then shoved another officer. He was positively identified as the suspect and placed under citizen arrested. He was on three counts of probation in Contra Costa County. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to county jail due to the likelihood the crime would continue.

Under Influence Controlled Substance / False ID / Resist Arrest – Panda Express (EC Plaza):
Officers were dispatched to Panda Express for a report of an unwanted female in her 30’s in the bathroom for over an hour doing drugs. Officers contacted the subject and determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance. She provided a false name and resisted arrest. To MDF.

Robbery – Fairmount Ave / Ramona Ave:
Officers were dispatched to a report of a strong arm robbery. The victim, a juvenile in his teens from El Cerrito, was approached by two males in their teens who were wearing ski masks. The suspects demanded the victim to empty his pockets and the victim gave them $100 before running away. Officer circulated the area for the suspects but were met with negative results.

Resist Arrest / Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Avenue / Burlingame Avenue:
Officers attempted to stop a male in his 20’s from Richmond for a pedestrian violation. The pedestrian led officers on a foot pursuit. A perimeter was set and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. It was determined the suspect ran because he knew he had a warrant. To MDF.

January 30th

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – Carquinez Ave / Hagen Blvd:
At 0758 hours, an officer recovered a 2000 Honda Civic that was reported stolen to Concord PD on 1/26/17. 

Residential Burglary – 2700 block Del Monte St:
Between 1/29/17 at 2130 hours and 1/30/17 at 0745 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet. The suspect then used the garage door opener to raise the garage door and entered the garage. The suspect ransacked the garage and stole a significant amount of tools, snowboard equipment, and rock climbing gear.

Fraud Arrest – Wells Fargo, 9800 San Pablo Ave:
At 1141 hours, Officers responded to a forgery in progress and arrested a 56 year old man from El Cerrito after he tried to cash a stolen check. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

Auto Burglary – 11780 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1/27/17 at 2300 and 1/29/17 at 0941 hours, an unknown suspect broke a front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and ransacked the interior but the victim could not identify a loss.

Warrant – Moeser Lane / BART Path:
At 1456 hours, an officer responded to a suspicious person call and arrested a 28 year old man from San Francisco on a Palo Alto Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

DUI / Trespassing – 1600 Block of Arlington Blvd:
Officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress. The suspect, a male in his 50’s from Alameda, showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s house and entered the residence through an unlocked front door without permission. The suspect left the scene driving prior to officers arrival. The ex-girlfriend’s son saw the suspect driving and knew where he was going. Officers circulated the area and located the suspect. He was found under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody without incident. Transported to the MDF.

Possession of Methamphetamine / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Nation’s 6060 Central Ave:
Officers were dispatched to an unwanted subject inside of Nation’s refusing to leave. Upon arrival, they contacted the subject, a male in his 30’s who is homeless, was found in possession of methamphetamine and a syringe. Cited and released.

Vehicle Tampering / Warrant Arrest / Curfew Violation – ECPD parking lot:
An officer was flagged down in the back lot of the ECPD by a male juvenile from Richmond to turn himself in for a warrant. While dealing with the juvenile, officers noticed the rear trunk of the parking enforcement vehicle open. A review of the security cameras revealed the juvenile had opened the trunk of the vehicle an hour prior to turning himself in. It was unknown if he had taken anything from the trunk. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall.
