Police Blotter January 23rd through January 26th

January 23rd

Auto burglary – 11430 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1850 and 1924 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a fishing bag and tool bag.

Possession of a controlled substance, Resisting arrest – 5200 block of Columbia Ave:
At 2142 hours, an officer was exiting Central Ave. from Interstate 80 when he saw a white Volvo fail to stop at the red light and almost collide with a vehicle in the intersection. The officer attempted to catch up to the Volvo but was stuck behind other vehicles in the intersection. When the officer caught up to the Volvo, he saw the driver park in a residential driveway and flee on foot. Unfortunately, the driver eluded the officer. A search of the vehicle produced methamphetamine. The suspect is described as a white male adult in his 30’s, shaved head, wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.

Warrant arrest, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave. / Macdonald Ave:
At 0125 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian enforcement stop and arrested a 48-year-old transient man for an outstanding warrant. During booking at the El Cerrito Police Department, officers located methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe in the man’s possession. Following booking, the man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of a dirk/dagger – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0144 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian enforcement stop and arrested a 44-year-old transient man for possession of a concealed, double sided, fixed blade, karambit knife. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

January 24th

Brandishing a Firearm - IFO 5010 EC Plaza:
At 1220 hours, Officers were responding to the report of an unwanted subject. They were flagged down by witnesses who reported seeing a black male, approximately 20 years old, wearing a bright blue hooded sweatshirt brandish a handgun at a transient male. The victim fled on foot. Just prior to being flagged down, the officers saw the suspect ride off at a high rate of speed on a ten speed bicycle, east on Fairmount Avenue. A few seconds later, they heard a single gunshot from the area of Central Avenue / BART path. The suspect was not located.

Strong-arm robbery – 1100 block of King Dr:
At 2138 hours, the victim arrived home and was gathering her belongings from her vehicle. Two suspects approached the victim and demanded her property. Both suspects grabbed the victim’s purse and forcibly ripped it from her hands. The suspects fled in a light colored sedan that was being driven by a third suspect. The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1 – Hispanic male juvenile, 14-16 years old, light complexion, 5’4”, slender build, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.

Suspect #2 – Unknown race male juvenile, 14-16 years old, light complexion, 5’4”, slender build, wearing a red hooded jacket.

Armed robbery – San Pablo Ave. / Hill St:
At 0125 hours, the victim pulled her car over to the curb to look for directions on her GPS. A vehicle pulled up and blocked the victim’s path. A suspect exited the vehicle and approached the victim’s window. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim attempted to lock her door but the suspect pulled it open before she could. The victim handed the suspect her purse and the suspect removed cash and credit cards. The suspect fled the scene. The victim left the scene and drove to Albany PD. ECPD officers were notified 20 minutes after. The suspect is described as follows:

Suspect #1 – White or Hispanic male adult, 20-25 years old, light complexion, 5’7” – 6’, 160 lbs., reddish/blonde mustache, wearing black pants and a Raiders jacket.

January 25th

Warrant Arrest - 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 1107 hours, an officer contacted a 42 year old Richmond woman after observing her lounging on the lawn at Denny’s sipping Vodka. She was wanted on a no cite misdemeanor warrant. She was arrested and transported to the MDF.

Stolen vehicle (courtesy report) – 600 block of Clayton Ave:
Between 1615 and 1800 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2011 Honda Accord while she was in Oakland. The victim returned to El Cerrito and did not have a way to get back to Oakland to report the crime.

Armed robbery – Key Blvd. / Elm St:
At 2345 hours, the victim was walking home when he was confronted by two suspects. One suspect pointed a handgun at the victim’s face and demanded his property. The victim handed over his belongings and the suspects fled. The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1 – Black male adult, 20’s, short hair, wearing a dark long sleeve shirt and light pants

Suspect #2 – Black male adult, 20’s, short hair, wearing all dark clothing

January 26th

Stolen Vehicle – Recovery - 1500 blk of Arlington Blvd:
At 1554 hours, officers were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle just occurred. The stolen vehicle, a dump truck, was being followed by the foreman from the worksite. The initial call was from Stockton Ave. and San Pablo Ave. The foreman followed the truck up Stockton Avenue where the driver of the dump truck hit numerous parked cars. Officers caught up to the vehicle in the 1500 block of Arlington Blvd where a felony stop was initiated. A 42 year old Richmond woman was taken into custody. It was determined that the theft of the vehicle occurred in the 5300 block of Sacramento Avenue in Richmond. During the course of the investigation, it was determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance and on three separate probation dockets in Contra Costa County. She was arrested, booked and transported to the MDF.
