Flood Warning until 10:13PM Thursday

The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams for... Rain and Snowmelt in... Eastern Mariposa County in central California... Southern Tuolumne County in northern California... Northeastern Madera County in central California... North central Kern County in central California... Central Tulare County in central California... Northeastern Fresno County in central California...

* Until 530 AM PST Wednesday

* At 530 PM PST, radar estimates and rain gauge data indicate rainfall that will continue to cause flooding in the warning area. Flood waters are moving down the west slopes of the Sierra-Nevada to lower foothill communites. Low lying flooding is already occurring in some areas, and many rivers and streams are bankfull. Some flood crests will occur through the night. Therefore, the Flood Warning is in effect for all foothill locations from just north of Lake Isabella to west of Yosemite National Park tonight. Additionally, rock and mud slides are very possible in the warned area. Again, this is for longer duration flooding, especially along rivers and streams in the foothills of the aforementioned counties.

* AFFECTED AREAS: KERN

Instructions:

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads or debris on roads or highways. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
