Good Thursday afternoon! The following are activities and calls for service for the Sheriff’s Office for 2/1/17:

-FM 1490 at McHam Rd: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to the area regarding loose cattle in the area. The owner was contacted and the livestock were located and secured.

-Hwy 385 at FM 1585: Agency Assist. Deputies responded to the intersection related to a motor vehicle crash. The deputies provided assistance and traffic control for THP.

-6800 blk Arkansas Rd: Agency Assist. Deputies were asked to assist EMS with a call at a residence in the area. One individual was transported by EMS.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a residence in reference to a disturbance. Deputies met with all parties and no offenses were reported.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Theft. A deputy met with a residence related to a theft report. It was reported an individual took several items from the residence. A report has been filed and the investigation is ongoing.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched back to the area about another verbal disturbance. Parties were separated and no offenses were reported.

-Hwy 114 at FM 2378: Agency Assist. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to a motor vehicle crash. THP worked the crash scene and deputies were cancelled prior to their arrival.

-US 62/82, Ropesville: Reckless Driving. A deputy was dispatched to the area in reference to a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-Hwy 385 at Terry Co. Line: Agency Assist. A deputy observed a Terry County Sheriff’s Office deputy at the county line. The deputy was assisting a motorist at the county line.

-6600 blk Tennessee Rd: Agency Assist. A deputy was dispatched to a residence to assist EMS. One person was transported to the hospital by EMS.

-FM 2130 at Leon Rd: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy stopped to check on a vehicle left on the side of the highway. Owner arrived on scene and moved the vehicle.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, civil process service, and motor vehicle stops.

Jail Population as of 2/2/17 at 0800 hrs: 48 in Hockley County, and 35 out-of-county.
