Crime Prevention Tip:
Residents are reminded that when they park their vehicles in commercial parking lots (restaurants, shopping centers, etc.), to place valuables such as purses, laptop computers, etc., in the trunk or out of sight (underneath a seat) prior to parking the car.  Auto burglars walk through parking lots, looking into cars for valuables in plain sight, and then break out windows to access the property.  Hiding your valuables could very well prevent you from being the victim of a ‘crime of opportunity’.
