Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, Holland Township Police Chief John Harris and Frenchtown Borough Police Chief Al Kurylka announced that a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Holland Township Police Department, Frenchtown Borough Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police has led to the arrest of one individual for weapons offenses.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “The joint investigation resulted in the arrest of Daniel Veselko, age 50, of Holland Township, on January 27, 2017. The defendant was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons Not To Have Weapons and Possession of Handgun Without a Permit, both 2nd degree crimes, Possession of a Rifle without an ID Card, Possession of a BB Pistol without an ID Card, Possession of a BB Rifle without an ID Card, 3rd degree crimes, Possession of a High Capacity Ammunition Magazine and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (knife), both 4th degree crimes.”
The defendant was released on his own recognizance pending his first court appearance.
Prosecutor Kearns added, “I would also like to thank the members of the Pennsylvania State Police Dublin Barracks for their invaluable assistance during this investigation.”
The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
