Stolen vehicle recovered and one subject arrested

INCIDENT: PC 496D(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: Highland Avenue and Elmwood Road, San Bernardino
SUSPECT: Benita Williams, 37 years old, San Bernardino resident
SUMMARY:
On January 28, 2017, at approximately 8:23 p.m., Deputy L. Sandoval, from the Sheriff's Central Station conducted an area check for a stolen vehicle in the area of Highland Avenue and Elmwood Road. Sandoval located the vehicle traveling east on Highland Avenue and conducted a felony traffic stop. The driver was contacted and identified as Benita Williams, a San Bernardino resident. The vehicle was reported stolen out of the city of Fontana earlier in the day. The vehicle was recovered and Williams was taken into custody. Williams was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center for PC 496D(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
