Police Blotter January 13th through January 16th

January 13th

Auto Burglary – Starbucks, 3090 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 0800 and 0814 hours, an unknown suspect broke the right rear window of the victim’s vehicle, reached in, and stole a bag containing a laptop and a breast pump.

Grand Theft – 1200 block Elm St:
The victim found a residence for rent on Zillow and agreed to rent it. She deposited $1400 into the suspect’s Bank of America account on 1/12/17. On 1/13/17, she determined the rental was fraudulent upon finding the house for rent on another website. The investigation determined there were three other deposits into the suspect’s account on 1/12/17 for similar amounts. The account was opened in New Jersey and the account holder’s address is in Nigeria.

Residential Burglary – 2200 block Mira Vista Ave:
At 1404 hours, Officers responded to an alarm call and arrived to find the front door kicked in. The unknown suspect entered and stole a jewelry box containing about $2500 in jewelry from the master bedroom.

Warrant – Behind Lucky, 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1456 hours, an officer arrested a 45 year old female from El Cerrito on a Contra Costa County warrant stemming from numerous ECPD arrests. She was released on a citation in the field.

Warrant – Fairmount Ave / Richmond St:
At 1700 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 45 year old man on a no cite San Mateo County Warrant. He was transported to MDF after booking.

January 14th

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 1500 block Douglas Dr:
At 0907 hours, an officer responded and recovered a tan 1996 Honda Accord that was reported stolen to ECPD from the 1600 block of Navellier St on 1/10/17.

Auto Burglary – 2500 block Arlington Blvd:
Sometime between 1/13/17 at 2345 hours and 1/14/17 at 0700 hours, and unknown suspect broke the rear window of the victim’s 2010 Jeep and stop a gym bag.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 1003 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 29 year old transient male on a no cite Contra Costa County Warrant stemming from a 2016 ECPD arrest. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to MDF.

Weapon Brandishing, Domestic Battery – 10900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 1708 hours, Officers responded to a domestic violence incident and arrested a 28 year old female from El Cerrito after she struck her husband with a hanger, knocked his glasses off his face, and threatened him with a knife. She then pushed him as he held and tried to console their children causing him to almost drop one of the children. She was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to MDF.

Warrant Arrest- Dylans Way:
At 2252 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 44 year old El Cerrito woman for an outstanding warrant. She was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI Arrest- Central Avenue/Yolo Avenue:
At 0310 hours, an officer witnessed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic enforcement stop. He subsequently arrested a 24 year old San Pablo male for suspicion of DUI. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

January 15th

Petty Theft, Public Intoxication – Trader Joes, 225 El Cerrito:
At 1252 hours, a 55 year old male from Richmond stole a bottle of gin. He was located near Taco Bell in Albany and found to be intoxicated. He was placed under citizen arrest. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to MDF.

Battery with Great Bodily Injury, Public Intoxication – 11965 San Pablo Ave:
At 1501 hours, Officers responded to a battery involving what was reported to be seven subjects beating up one victim. A 17 year old male from Richmond and his 25 year old brother, also from Richmond, hit and kicked the victim while three others watched. The brothers were heavily intoxicated and arrested. The victim sustained a large laceration over his right eye that will likely require stitches and was transported to the hospital by AMR. Both men were booked at the ECPD. The juvenile was released to his father on a juvenile affidavit and the adult was transported to MDF.

Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property Arrest- 2000 block of Junction Avenue:
At 2212 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary that occurred at a residence. (V) arrived home and found her shared garage was entered by an unknown suspect and 3 bicycles were stolen.

Another officer conducted a suspicious person stop on a 48 year old transient male approximately 20 minutes earlier and noticed he was carrying two bicycles at San Pablo Ave/Conlon Ave, which is .2 miles away from where the burglary occurred, but could not substantiate a crime at the time and released him.

After the burglary call came out, officers circulated the area for the transient male and located him in the Bank of America parking lot, 4800 Macdonald Avenue. He was riding one of the victim’s stolen bicycles. The other bicycles were not located. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

January 16th

Residential Burglary – 1500 block Madera Circle:
Between 1/14/17 at 1300 hours and 1/16/17 at 0730 hours, an unknown suspect broke a glass door and entered the residence which is currently under construction. Fortunately, the contractor did not leave tools on the property and there was no loss.

Stolen Vehicle – 1400 block S. 56th Street:
Between 1/15/17 at 2130 hours and 1/16/17 at 0400 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s grey 1992 Acura Integra.

Possession of Fraudulent Driver Licenses – Parking lot of Jack in the Box, 5920 Cutting Blvd:
At 2204 hours, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle check on a vehicle. The passenger, a 30 year old female out of El Sobrante, was found in possession of 3 fraudulent driver licenses with her photo on it. More follow up needed with victims. She was cited and released.

DUI Collision Arrest- Kearney Street/Schmidt Lane:
At 0157 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to a report of a white Chevy Malibu that was attempting to parallel park on Kearney St, near Schmidt Ln. While attempting to park, the driver collided into 3 separate parked vehicles in the process. The driver, a 25 year old El Cerrito male, was located and was arrested for DUI
