SHERIFF GONZALEZ, JUDGE ED EMMETT, & HCSO JR. MOUNTED POSSE OFFICIALLY KICKOFF RODEO SEASON WITH PROCLAMATION PRESENTATION TODAY .
(HOUSTON, TX) – Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, along with Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, is proud to kick off the start of the upcoming Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo season which starts March 7-26 by signing proclamations to be delivered in old fashion style by horseback by the HCSO’s Jr. Mounted Posse.
The diminutive Junior Deputies will brave the cold and gusty winds to bring these proclamations to surrounding cities and counties in the old style method of delivery, “the pony express ride.” This year they will be riding to Columbus, Weimar, Hallettsville, Tomball, Magnolia, Navasota, Beaumont, Port Arthur and Galveston.
This proclamation is a formal invitation/proclamation prepared by these dignitaries inviting surrounding partners to the 85th Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
