Flooding in Lamont - Precautionary Evacuation Center

Gracias. // If you live, work or are visiting an area affected by flooding in the Lamont area on Monday, January 23rd, please pay close attention to this message. // The following areas in Lamont are currently experiencing flooding: // Hilltop Drive south to East Panama Lane, between Highway 184 and the East Side Canal. // As a precaution, an evacuation center will be opened by 11:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23rd, at Arvin High School, 900 Varsity Road. If you at any time feel at risk, please proceed to the evacuation center. // Your Kern County emergency authorities recommend that all persons in the affected area remain aware of their surroundings and, if at any time feel at risk, proceed to the evacuation center at Arvin High School. Animal Services will assist with sheltering companion animals at the center. As a safety precaution, do not drive or walk across moving water, mud, or other debris flow. // Additionally, if you have physical limitations and require evacuation transportation assistance, please call the Aging and Adult Services hotline at 1-855-264-6565. // Please make sure your neighbors are alerted. // If you have an emergency, call 911.
