Be aware of "Knock Knock" burglars! Burglary suspects who knock on your front door to check if anyone is home.
Wilshire Burglary Detectives state that a typical technique for daytime residential burglars is to knock on the front door of the intended victim's residence. If there is no answer, the suspect then attempts to break in. If someone is home, and answers the door, a lame excuse is given and the suspect leaves. If this happens to you, notify the police department immediately. Make sure to get a good description of the suspect and, if a car is seen, get a license plate number if possible. Good preventative measures would be to make sure your residence is completely locked up, and leaving a radio or TV on with the volume just loud enough to suggest someone is home. If you see ANY suspicious activity in your neighborhood, do not hesitate to call the police! Happy Holidays.
