HIGH WIND WARNING & COASTAL FLOODING ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ABERDEEN AREA.
Please be advised, of the weather warnings in effect for the Aberdeen area. A high wind warning is in effect until 9:00 PM with northeast winds from 30 – 40 mph with gusts around 60 mph. The strongest winds are expected to occur this afternoon and evening. Please be prepared for blown down trees and power lines; never touch a downed power line. Scattered and numerous power outages are expected, if you happen to lose power at any time throughout the storm please contact JCP&L. We urge our residents to not contact our Police Department or dial 911 in regards to a power outage because they have no control over when the power will be restored. Also, do not assume that your neighbor has contacted JCP&L about the power outage. Below are multiple methods to report a power outage.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 2:00 p.m., which will then turn into a coastal flood warning in effect until 11:00 PM. High tide will be at 4:00 and 5:00 PM this evening. A coastal flood advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected or occurring. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood. A coastal flood warning means that flooding id expected. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water and take appropriate action to protect life and property. Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters, the water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, which will lead to costly repairs. We urge all of our residents to remain safe and take necessary precautions. As we all know weather can be unpredictable, that is why you should always be prepared. We hope all of our residents remain safe throughout the storm.
