Advisory

10:30AM Update - Heavy rain expected. Power outage caused by fallen trees this morning.

The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the approaching storm. Indications are that the storm will intensify this afternoon. Heavy rains may cause isolated flooding in poor drainage areas. Added caution will be needed for the evening commute.

Status Report:

All roadways are clear and power has been restored throughout the Township. The high winds overnight brought down some trees on Georges Road and Miller Road, and caused sporadic power outages this morning. Starting at 4am, power outages were reported in Kingston and Dayton areas. PSE&G reported over 300 customers were impacted at the height of the outage.

Forecast from WeatherWorks –

An impressive coastal storm is approaching, but this is a warm storm for us as we are looking at predominately rain. There are two wintry things we are monitoring however, first is 4 PM - 12 AM when we have some very heavy rain. There is a low chance it is just cold enough to switch this over to sleet. Temps would be above freezing, but because it would be heavy sleet, can't rule out coverings. Secondly, Tuesday morning on the backside of the storm. Right now, thinking is we stay warm enough for rain as any switches to snow likely remain to our west (PA/MD).
