Rain related problems pervasive throughout Lomita station's jurisdiction.

Station family!

It is flooded pretty much everywhere. Any low lying areas are inundated with water. City public works crews are keeping storm drains clear as best they can. Make sure any drains on your property are cleared, as that will help with any flooding issues.

Sandbags are available at Ernie Howlett Park at 25851 Hawthorne Blvd in Rolling Hills Estates at the rear of the maintenance yard and at LA County Fire Station 106 at 27413 Indian Peak Rd, Rolling Hills Estates on the side of fire station. These are empty sand bags, so you will need to source your own sand unfortunately.

The best advice we can offer right now for navigating the roads is to STAY HOME unless you absolutely have to be out driving.

There is no public agency that is going to be capable of turning off the rain, as much as we'd like an hour or two to allow things to dry out. Rain is projected to last for another several hours, so we're in for more water and more problems.

Lomita Sheriff’s Station provides law enforcement services to the cities of Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, and unincorporated communities in San Pedro and the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
