Severe weather advisory for the next 36 hours. Heavy rain and wind may cause power outages. Use caution.

Scattered showers or patchy drizzle can be expected at times this evening. Areas of fog may enter the area also throughout the night. Wind speeds will begin to increase overnight with gusts of 30 - 35 MPH possible by morning.

Heavier rains will enter the area tomorrow morning between 7:00 to 10:00 AM. You can expect 1" - 2" of rain tomorrow before the rain begins to taper off around 8:00 PM. Wind speeds for tomorrow are expected to be 25 - 35 MPH with gusts of 50 - 60 MPH possible
before tapering off tomorrow evening.

Due to the strong winds and predicted wind gust speeds it is likely that there could be a possibility of power outages, downed trees and utility services. Use extreme caution when driving to and from work tomorrow, since, there is a chance of roadway flooding as a result of heavy downpours. Allow extra time for your commute.

If you loose power, contact Public Service Electric at 800-436-7734
for service. Prepare now for possible power outages. Locate or purchase fresh batteries, flashlights and battery operated lanterns. Avoid using candles during power outages. Also place your cell phones and other electronic devices on charge now before the storm hits.

Secure any outdoor items that may be affected by the strong wind gusts. We will continue to monitor this event and forward additional messages as necessary.
