Due to a high surf advisory and high tide conditions, the Municipal Wharf will be closed Saturday morning from 2 AM to 12 noon.
For the safety of the public, the wharf will be closed tomorrow morning, Saturday 01/21, at 2 AM (normal closure time) and will remain closed until 12 noon. The wharf will be closed to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic and the only people who will be allowed on the wharf will be public safety personnel and members of the wharf maintenance crew.
The closure is due to high surf and high tides. A new W/NW swell is coming in overnight with an anticipated swell of 38 ft. The surf forecast is for waves at 25 ft plus. The high surf is coupled with a morning high tide of 4.99 ft.
We recognize that this is an inconvenience to both the public and business owners on the wharf; however, safety is our priority. Police and Fire personnel will be monitoring the conditions overnight and will open the wharf once deemed that there is no danger of significant structural damage to the wharf.
