Hit and Run Collision Update
On 1/14/2017 at about 0530Hrs, The Anchorage Police Department dispatch center received a 911 caller reporting a pedestrian had been struck on Elmore Road south of Lore.  Responding Patrol Officers located a deceased female adult and the witness / caller.   The Anchorage Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit responded to investigate the crash.  The investigation determined the pedestrian was walking south in the southbound lane of Elmore and was struck by a southbound vehicle. Using forensic evidence found at the collision scene, Fatality Investigator Buchta was able to determine the suspect was driving a 2012-2017 gray Chevrolet Sonic.  Throughout the day the Anchorage Police Department released a series of Nixie alerts asking the public for assistance in locating the suspect vehicle.
