January 3rd

Warrant Arrest:
An officer responded to San Francisco County Jail to take custody of 25 year old Brentwood man who was in custody on an El Cerrito Police Department robbery warrant. He was transported to the MDF.

Auto Burglary - 9800 San Pablo Ave:
At 0638 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. The burglary occurred between 0630 and 0635 hours and the loss was a laptop. No suspect was seen but a gray car was seen leaving the area. A review of the video shows a male subject wearing a gray shirt and dark pants. He fled in a silver sedan.

Auto Burglary - 9898 San Pablo Ave:
At 0903 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. In between 0843 and 0850 hours, an unidentified suspect wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans weighing approximately 250 lbs smashed the window of a parked vehicle and stole a gray Apple Macbook. The suspect fled in a silver car.

Auto Burglary - 9999 San Pablo Ave:
At 1101 hours, an officer noticed a vehicle with a broken window in the parking lot and tracked down the owner. The officer learned that in between 1000 and 1100 hours, an unidentified suspect smashed the window and stole clothes and personal items.

Vandalism - 11868 San Pablo Ave:
At 1428 hours, an officer responded to the report of a projectile being shot through the window of the new Brazilian restaurant. The projectile penetrated the window and hit a sign but could not be located. No shots were heard. The glass landed in a patron’s plate and was quickly cleaned by the restaurant.

Vandalism - 11900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 1448 hours, an officer contacted a victim at the ECPD. At about 1430 hours, she reported driving on San Pablo Avenue when the window of her vehicle was shattered, leaving a round hole. No shots were heard. A check of her vehicle did not locate a projectile.

Vandalism - 11900 San Pablo Ave:
At 1537 hours, Cpl. Tang contacted employees at the Red Onion. At about 1430 hours, an unidentified suspect used a rock as a projectile to shatter the front window. No suspect was seen.

Petty Theft – 6500 block of Morris Ave:
At approximately 1711 hours, two suspects stole the victim’s packages from his front porch. Suspect #1 is described as a black male adult in his 40’s, wearing gray track pants, white sweatshirt, blue jacket, and a baseball cap. Suspect #2 is described as a black male adult in his early 20’s, wearing black pants, dark striped shirt, dark jacket, and a baseball cap. The two fled in a newer model white SUV driven by a third suspect. The SUV appears to be a 2017 Volvo V-60.

Vandalism – Steve’s Auto Body, 11820 San Pablo Ave:
At 1820 hours, an unknown suspect propelled an unknown object, which broke the front glass door of the business. A witness stated that a black Ford Mustang occupied by two subjects stopped at the intersection and it appeared the passenger launched something out of the driver window. The vehicle was last seen turning eastbound onto Wall Ave.

Stolen Vehicle Report – 2300 block of Carquinez Ave:
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1989 Nissan pickup truck sometime between 1430 and 1700 hours.

Vehicle Collision (Vehicle vs. Pedestrian) - San Pablo Ave. / Wall Ave:
A driver was making a left turn from San Pablo Ave. onto Wall Ave. when he struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian suffered a laceration to her head and complained of pain to her right side. The pedestrian was transported by AMR.

Auto Burglary – 9895 San Pablo Ave.
Between 2005 and 2050 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and stole a backpack.

January 4th

Auto Burglary - 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 0731 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect smashed a window and removed property between 0715-0720 hours. The suspect arrived and departed in what appeared to be a blue car.

Auto Burglary - 9901 San Pablo Ave:
At 0757 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary in the Chipotle lot. The time frame was similar to the above auto burglary.

Misc. Casualty - 250 EC Plaza:
At 1235 hours, Officers responded to the report of a woman down in between the cars. The officer who arrived immediately began CPR until she was relieved by responding paramedics.

Warrant Arrest - Central Ave. / Jacuzzi Ave:
An El Cerrito police officer contacted bicyclists and found that the 48 year old male from Berkeley had an outstanding probation violation warrant. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – San Pablo Ave at Ohio Ave:
At 2330 hours, an El Cerrito police officer recovered unoccupied silver 2001 Honda CRV, which was reported stolen out of San Rafael PD on 1-4-17.

Arrest for Drunk in Public - Nations 6060 Central Ave:
At 0412 hours, officers responded to an argument between a suspect and an employee of the restaurant. A 55 year old male from Richmond was detained inside. The male was placed under arrest for being heavily intoxicated and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

January 5th

Robbery - Fairmount Ave. / Everett St:
At 0544 hours, officers responded to the report of a robbery. The victim was walking to BART when he was confronted by a two suspects. They demanded his property, indicated they were armed and then checked his pockets, stealing his cell phone and wallet. They fled and got into a black vehicle. Follow up investigation led officers to the suspect’s residence in Richmond. A search warrant was executed and two 19 year old Richmond residents were arrested. The victim’s property was recovered. They were booked and transported to the County jail.

Assault with a deadly weapon - 11965 San Pablo Ave:
At 0905 hours, Officers responded to the report of a victim stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver. The suspect, a 32 year old Richmond resident was still on scene. He was arrested, booked and transported to the County jail. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Warrant Arrest - 10900 San Pablo Ave:
At 1254 hours, a 29 year old Hercules woman turned herself in on an ECPD DUI warrant at the Police Department. She was booked and transported to the County Jail.

Grand Theft – Walgreen’s 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1927 hours, four unknown suspects entered the store, grabbed numerous items from the display shelves (over $1100) and walked out the store. One of the suspects jumped over the registered and removed over $500 worth of cigarettes. The suspects were described as four black male adults, 20’s, wearing dark clothing. They were last seen running to the rear of the store.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Hill St:
At 1945 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 50 year old male from Fairfield on a $3000.00 warrant for theft. The male was released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Barrett Ave:
During a traffic stop at 2319 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 33 year old female from Antioch for two identity theft/burglary warrants. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
