Police Blotter December 30th through January 2nd

December 30th

Grand Theft – Verizon, 410 EC Plaza:
At 1612 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft of a two iPhones from Verizon. Two black males, wearing dark clothing and hoodies in their early 20’s entered the store and cut the cord to two phones and fled in a black Nissan Maxima. The same two suspects also hit the Sprint store as well, stealing two iPhones. The total loss was approximately $3200.00.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – S. 59th Street / Highland Ave:
At 1900 hours, an officer located a white 1991 Acura Integra that was reported stolen to Oakland PD on 12/6/16.

Warrant (X2) – 11595 San Pablo Ave:
At 1907 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 37 year old Richmond man on two no bail Contra Costa County warrants. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to MDF.

Warrant – Kearney St / Manila Ave:
At 0024 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 48 year old male on a Contra Costa County warrant stemming from an ECPD case. He was released on a citation.

Failure to Yield – WB I-80 / Central Ave:
At 0047 hours, an officer attempted a traffic stop on a black Acura Integra. The unknown driver of the Acura accelerated away and turned off his vehicle’s lights out on westbound I-80. A pursuit was not initiated.

Warrant, Felon Possess Ammo – San Pablo Ave / Knott Ave:
At 0059 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a male from Richmond on a no bail Contra Costa County warrant. The man, a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of two 12 gauge shotgun shells during a search incident to arrest. He was booked at the ECPD, cited on the new charges, and transported to MDF on the warrant.

DUI – Macdonald Ave / S. 45th St:
At 0332 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 41 year old man from El Cerrito for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

December 31st

Auto Burglary – 11150 San Pablo Ave:
An unidentified suspect smashed the window of a Ford Edge and stole a cell phone and electronics in between 0735 and 0830 hours.

Warrant – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1337 hours, Officers responded to the report of a subject causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. The 56 year old male was wanted on UC Berkeley PD warrant and cited in the field.

Stolen Vehicle – 10944 San Pablo Ave:
In between 2300 hours on 12/30/16 and 1325 hours an unidentified suspect stole a blue 1995 Nissan Pathfinder.

Vehicle Tampering – 2000 Block Key Blvd:
Over the last month, an unidentified suspect forced the door lock of a Ford Mustang parked in the driveway.

Restraining Order Violation, Battery – 800 block Pomona Ave:
At 1833 hours, Officers responded to a 911 disconnect and determined A 30 year old male from El Cerrito assaulted his mother and was at the house in violation of his probation and a restraining order. He fled prior to officers’ arrival. A records check determined he is also wanted on a no bail warrant.

Possess Controlled Substance, ID Theft, Fraud – Macdonald Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 0206 hours, an officer investigated a suspicious vehicle and located numerous fraudulent credit cards and identification cards, as well as credit card skimmers and encoders, and other items associated with manufacturing credit cards. The vehicle owner, a 59 year old man from Castro Valley, was arrested and booked at the ECPD. He was transported to MDF.

Possess a Loaded and Concealed Firearm – Everett St / Portola Ave:
At 0401 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 20 year old male from Vallejo after he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun concealed in his waistband. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

January 1st

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – Elm St and Gladys Avenue:
At 0947 hours, an officer recovered an unoccupied 1996 Nissan Altima which was reported stolen to BART Police on 12/19/16.

Armed Robbery – San Pablo Avenue and Jefferson Street:
At 1436 hours, the victim was walking on San Pablo Avenue crossing Jefferson Street when a vehicle traveling eastbound stopped and three subjects got out the vehicle armed with handguns and demanded her purse. The suspects took the victim’s purse and fled south on San Pablo Avenue and then west onto Bayview Avenue. Suspects were described as three black male adults, in their 20’s, and wearing dark hooded sweaters. The vehicle was described as a dark colored sedan, possibly a VW Jetta.

Domestic Battery – 11944 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1502 hours, Officers responded to the apartment and an arrested a 34 year old man and 35 year old female, husband and wife, and both residents of the apartment after they were involved in an argument that turned physical. Bother were booked at the ECPD and the male transported to MDF while the female was released on a citation.

Residential Burglary – 2600 block Tamalpais Ave:
Sometime between 12/31/16 at 1500 hours and 1/1/17 at 1700 hours, an unknown suspect forced entry into this residence which is under construction and stole tools.

Shoot at Unoccupied Vehicle – 5500 block Zara Ave:
Sometime between 12/31/16 at 1600 hours and 1/1/17 at 1600 hours, an unknown suspect fired one round striking the victim’s unoccupied vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of her residence. The victim reported hearing several fireworks during the night and did not specifically remember hearing a gunshot.

Possess Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave / Fairmount Ave:
At 2100 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 32 year old Richmond man for possession of methamphetamines. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

January 2nd

Residential Burglary – 600 block of Albemarle St:
At 2312 hours, an officer reports sometime between 12/29/16 0700 hours to 1/2/17 2300 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence via an unlocked backdoor and stole approximately $2000.00 worth of property.
