Flood Warning for the areas of Arvin, Weedpatch, Lamont, Edison and Bear Valley
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning. This will be in effect from Thursday 1/5/17 at 4:12 pm to 10:15 pm The areas affected include communities of Arvin, Weedpatch, Lamont, Edison and Bear Valley Springs. You should monitor weather forecasts and be prepared to take action should become an issue.
Actions you can take to prepare: • Assemble an emergency supply kit, be sure to include needed medication and pet supplies. • Clear drain areas around your home. • Fill and place sandbags if necessary. You are urged to closely monitor flood conditions in your area and be prepared to move to a place of safety if it becomes necessary for you to evacuate. If there is a possibility of a flash flood in your area, move immediately to higher ground. Do not wait for an evacuation order. Do not attempt to drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Please make sure your neighbors are alerted.
