Happy New Year! 
The El Cerrito Police Department would like to wish everyone a happy and successful New Year in 2017! We would also like to remind those who will be celebrating on New Year’s Eve to act responsibly and arrange for safe transportation to and from your destination. We have increased our traffic enforcement efforts this holiday season with an additional number of experienced officers looking for drivers who are under the influence and impaired. These officers are specially trained in the detection of drivers who may be impaired from alcohol and/or controlled substances to include prescription medication.
We urge you to consider taking public transportation or a car service if possible. BART is offering special service from 8pm to 3am and AC Transit is offering FREE service from 8pm to 5am. Car services include Taxis, Uber, Lyft, and others.
Driving under the influence is illegal, dangerous and costly. It can ruin the holidays for everyone involved. Make the smart decision of having a sober and safe ride home.
