Police Blotter December 20th through December 22nd

December 20th

Felon in Possession of a Loaded Firearm with High Capacity Magazine- BART path/Blake Ave:
At 1346 hours, officers working in plain clothes were conducting surveillance on the BART path near Blake Ave. and noticed a couple in a verbal argument that appeared to be getting physical. Uniform officers responded to the area and contacted the male and female. During the officers’ investigation, they located a loaded firearm, along with a loaded 25 round magazine. The 30-year-old male resident of Richmond was placed under arrest and transported to the El Cerrito Police Station for booking. After booking, the male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Conlon Ave:
At 0019 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 40-year-old Richmond man for an outstanding warrant. The man was released with a citation.

Driving under the influence – San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd:
At 0124 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 23-year-old Richmond man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend.

Public intoxication, Resisting arrest – San Pablo Ave. / San Diego St:
At 0225 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and found that the 39-year-old El Cerrito man was extremely intoxicated. The man became agitated with the officer and attempted to push the officer to flee the area. The officer was able to subdue the man and arrest him. The man was found to be a danger to himself and others so he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

December 21st

Petty Theft- 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1102 hours, an officer accepted the Citizen’s Arrest of a 34-year-old male of Oakland from Lucky employees. The male was recognized by employees as the same person who left the store earlier with unpaid merchandise. The male was released on a citation out in the field.

Auto Burglary- 5900 Block of Jordan Ave:
An officer reported an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and rifled through several shopping bags. No property loss reported. The incident occurred in between 1215-1645 hours.

Auto burglary – 11299 San Pablo Ave:
Between 0800 and 1800 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s passenger window and stole a red scarf.

Recovered stolen vehicle, Possession of a controlled substance – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2215 hours, an officer noticed a 42-year-old Napa man exit a vehicle, grab a backpack from the interior, and walk away. Another officer in the area stopped the man to investigate while the initial officer checked the vehicle. The initial officer found that the vehicle had been reported stolen to Napa PD on the 12th. Officers arrested the man and conducted a search. During the search, officers located heroin in the man’s possession. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

December 22nd

Drunk In Public -10070 San Pablo Ave:
At 1402 hours, officers were dispatched to the Rialto Theater in regards to a subject inside cursing and yelling near the stage. Upon arrival, a 49-year-old male from Berkeley was located and appeared intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto burglary – 11740 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1930 and 2030 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and stole property.

Auto burglary – 10264 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1945 and 2020 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and stole a purse containing personal identifying information.

Attempted auto burglary – Albemarle St. / Lincoln Ave:
Between 1930 and 2000 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and rummaged the interior. However, nothing was taken.

Attempted auto burglary – 11740 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1930 and 2030 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and rummaged the interior. However, nothing was taken.

Attempted auto burglary – 11740 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1930 and 2030 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and rummaged the interior. However, nothing was taken.

Auto burglary – 10264 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1945 and 2030 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and stole a black computer bag containing a laptop.

Warrant arrest – Cutting Blvd. / S. 50th St:
At 2249 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the passenger, a 21-year-old Richmond woman for an outstanding warrant. The woman was issued a citation.
