Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory from 6 pm today until 1 am Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory which is in effect from 6:00 p.m. this evening through 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.

A light wintry mix of precipitation will cause travel difficulties late Monday evening into early Tuesday morning. We will see a brief period of freezing drizzle this evening with a light wintry mix that will gradually transition to rain before tapering off early Tuesday.

The winter weather advisory has been cancelled but the freezing rain will bring ice accumulations of around a tenth of an inch. This may start late today into tonight with winds from south at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and temperatures in the low-mid 30s.

A freezing rain advisory means that periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads, slow down and use caution while driving. Also, ice accumulations may cause downed trees and power lines. Do not approach any downed wires but instead, call your local power company or fire department.
