NARRATIVE:
On December 24, 2016 at approximately 4:30am the Deal Police Department received a report of a possible structure fire in the area of Norwood and Woodford Road. Ptl Nick Dowling was dispatched and upon arrival confirmed a working structure fire at the above location. Ptl Dowling was able to assist several good samaritans in evacuating the homeowner. Ptl Losqaudro and Ptl Kerney who had arrived to assist then conducted an interior search of the residence to ensure everyone had safely evacuated.
The Deal Fire Department arrived on scene shortly after and with the assistance of the officers involved began fire suppression operations on the fully involved attached garage. At this point the fire was beginning to spread to the main residence. The Deal Fire Department, along with mutual aid from Long Branch, Asbury Park, Oakhurst, Allenhurst, Tinton Falls and Neptune fire Departments were able to extinguish the fire without incident. The Deal and Elberon First Aid Squads also responded to the scene to assist.
The quick actions by Patrolmen Losquadro, Kerney and Dowling, along with all fire and ems personnel that responded, prevented this situation from escalating. Great job by everyone involved.
