Recently the El Cerrito Police Department received several calls regarding unwanted door to door solicitors. If you ever feel uncomfortable with a solicitor, please don't answer the door and call the police department immediately at (510) 233-1214 or in case of an emergency, call 911. Solicitors are required to have a permit to conduct this activity. If a residence has a sign that says "No Solicitors", they are not allowed to come to your door. We urge you to use caution about giving a solicitor your personal or financial information. You shouldn't allow them into your residence for any reason.
