A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for the area from 10 PM Friday until 11 AM Saturday. 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected with ice accumulations of a few hundredths of an inch.
Snow is forecasted to overspread the region from west to east overnight tonight. The snow could become moderate or heavy for an hour or two overnight before quickly changing to sleet and freezing rain from south to north during the early and mid morning hours. A brief period of freezing rain will change to rain late Saturday morning.
The snow and ice will create hazardous travel conditions with slippery roads and limited visibilities. Please use extra caution while driving later tonight and tomorrow morning.
