Police Blotter December 6th through December 8th

December 6th

Stolen vehicle – 600 block of Ashbury Ave:
Between 1700 hours on the 4th and 1800 hours on the 5th, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1990 Honda Accord.

Recovered stolen vehicle – Clayton Ave / Eureka Ave:
At 0841 hours, an officer located a green Honda Accord that had been reported stolen to Hayward PD on the 5th.

Auto burglary – Peet’s Coffee 9895 San Pablo Ave:
Between 0915 and 0920 hours, an unknown suspect smashed open the rear driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole electronics.

The suspect is described as a black male adult, wearing a black hat and black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect was driving a gold/tan sedan with paper plates.

Auto burglary – Peet’s Coffee 9895 San Pablo Ave:
While responding to the above detail, another victim called to report his or her vehicle had been broken into. An unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and stole a backpack.

Auto burglary – Mira Vista Hotel 6009 Potrero Ave:
Between 2204 and 2207 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and removed tools. The suspect is described a white or Hispanic male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Disorderly conduct – 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 2255 hours, and officer arrested a 32-year-old transient man after he was found to be extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The man was transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Recovered stolen vehicle – Gladys Ave. / Elm St:
At 2030 hours, an officer located an unoccupied 1991 Acura Integra that had been reported stolen to the El Cerrito Police Department on 11/20.

December 7th

Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of paraphernalia, Parole violation – Richmond St. / Gladys Ave:
At 0857 hours, an officer arrested a 33-year-old Richmond man for possession of a glass smoking pipe and methamphetamine. The man was found to be on parole and his handling agent was contacted. The man’s agent issued a parole detainer and the man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. At the same time, another officer stopped and arrested a 25-year-old Richmond man for possession of a glass smoking pipe. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Warrant arrest – 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1230 hours, an officer was dispatched to a subject suffering a psychotic break at Safeway. The officer found the man’s mental health was unaffected but he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police department and released.

Recovered stolen vehicle – 5800 block of Avila Ave:
At 1856 hours, an officer located a gray Honda Accord that had been reported stolen to San Pablo PD earlier in the day.

Stolen vehicle – 5800 block of Avila Ave:
While recovering the above vehicle, the officer learned that an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1999 Honda Accord sometime during the early morning hours.

Auto burglary – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 1945 and 2049 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a black back containing personal identifying information.

Auto burglary – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 1845 and 2045 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole the victim’s backpack containing hearing aids worth $5000 and other personal identifying information.

Auto burglary – 7000 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 2045 and 2058 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole the victim’s backpack.

Vandalism to auto – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 2010 and 2100 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window but did not steal anything.

December 8th

Grand theft – 180 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 0922 hours, an unknown suspect entered the business and stole a laptop computer.

Strong-arm robbery – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1136 hours, officers were dispatched to Safeway after a 45-year-old transient man ate food but refused to pay for it. When officers arrived, the man tried to fight with the officer. Store employees assisted in tackling the man and handcuffing him. The store manager suffered a head injury during the altercation. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential burglary – 7300 block of Cutting Blvd:
Between 0900 and 1700 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence by shattering a rear window. Once inside, the suspect took several items of property.

Possession of Burglary Tools – Richmond Street and Potrero Ave:
An officer conducted a pedestrian and arrested a 25 year old male from Richmond for being in possession of tools commonly used to steal vehicles. The male was booked and released on a citation.

Poss. Of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Poss. Of pepper spray - San Pablo Ave. / Carlson Blvd:
An officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 33 year old male from Richmond for being possession of a controlled substance. The male was also a felon and in possession of pepper spray. The male was booked and released on a citation.
