Extreme cold weather is headed our way beginning this evening through early Saturday. Wind chills can be expected to drop below zero, take steps to be prepared now. Update your emergency kit now add some blankets and additional warm clothing. Remember to bring pets indoors. and limit the amount of time that they are outside during the extreme cold weather.
Remember that children and the elderly are more prone to the effects of cold weather. Make sure that they are properly dressed for the temperatures. Check on your elderly neighbors regularly, to assure that they are safe during this cold weather. Remember to remain indoors whenever possible, if you must go outside,dress in layers. If you are working outdoors, you must dress in layers and keep as much of your skin covered as possible. Take frequent breaks indoors to avoid hypothermia.
