**UPDATE ARREST**Man found shot to death in vehicle on city's west side

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), homicide detectives, make a quick apprehension of a murder suspect after he is alleged to have shot and killed a man on 12/1/16.
 
Detectives arrested 23-year-old Dontae Blount of Indianapolis for his alleged role in the shooting and killing of 23-year-old Sy-Ayre Kyles. Investigators with IMPD's Violent Crimes Unit apprehended the suspect approximately 6 days after the crime without incident and brought him to IMPD Headquarters for questioning. The suspect was questioned by IMPD homicide detectives and eventually arrested and transported to Arrestee Processing Center to be processed on a preliminary charge of Murder and Carrying a Handgun Without A License. Detectives believe that one of the motives was drugs.
 
Detectives credit the community with providing very helpful information that enabled them to identify and arrest an alleged suspected shooter. INDIANAPOLIS - Detectives have released several photos of two individuals they would like to speak with reference the deadly shooting yesterday evening. Additionally, detectives have released pictures of a gray vehicle that the male in the attached pictures was driving. Detectives stress that both individuals are not believed to be the suspected shooter however detectives believe both individuals may have witnessed the shooting and may have information critical to this investigation. INDIANAPOLIS - Detectives have identified the victim as 23-year-old Sy-Ayre Kyles of Indianapolis. Detectives continue to review facts known to investigators to determine a possible suspect description. Should detectives make additional updates available this release will be updated with new information.

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating after a man is found shot to death in a vehicle on the city's west side. 

Just before midnight on 12/01/2016, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the Speedway gas station in the 6300 block of Rockville Rd on reports of a hold up alarm. Responding officers located an unresponsive male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, inside a vehicle on the gas station parking lot. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead on-scene. The gas station attendant had pulled the alarm due to the shooting on the lot; the business was not robbed. 

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began interviewing witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. Detectives do not have any reliable suspect information to release at this time. The victim's name will be released once their next-of-kin has been notified.
