November 28th

Recovered Stolen Vehicle - Orchard Ave. / San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 1101 hours, an officer located the victim’s stolen Honda CRV. The vehicle was reported stolen to Vallejo PD on 11/26/16.

Warrant Arrest- Madison Ave. / San Pablo Ave:
At 1500 hours, an officer noticed a 32-year-old male whom he recognized as having an outstanding warrant. As officers approached the male, he ran to the back of a house in the 5600 block of Madison Ave. Officers quickly set up a perimeter. During a search of several backyards, the male was found hiding in the backyard of a house in the 5600 block of Jefferson Ave. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Strong-arm robbery, Elder abuse – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2325 hours, an elderly employee was collecting carts in the plaza when she was approached by two subjects. One subject held the victim from behind while the other rummaged through her pockets. The suspects stole the victim’s belongings and fled on foot. The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect #1 - Black male adult in his early 20’s, tall, thin build, wearing dark clothing
Suspect #2 – Black male adult in his early 20’s, short, medium build, wearing dark clothing.

Miscellaneous detail – 10070 San Pablo Ave:
At 2332 hours, employees of the Rialto Theater called and stated that a man in the theater had a gun tucked in his waistband. The theater staff found the man asleep in the theater and called police. Officers arrived and found a 59-year-old transient man asleep with a toy gun in his waistband. The man was educated about the dangers of possession a replica firearm and released.

Resisting arrest – Hagen Blvd. / Morris Ave:
At 0147 ours, an officer attempted to stop a bicyclist but the bicyclist fled down the hill. A short pursuit ensued and the bicyclist was detained. Officers arrested a 48-year-old Richmond man for resisting arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

November 29th

Stolen Vehicle- 7700 Block of Eureka Ave:
A Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s red two door 1997 Honda Civic. The theft occurred in between 11/28 at 2330 hours and 11/29 at 1100 hours.

Attempt Stolen Vehicle– 900 block of Ashbury Ave:
A Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlock 1999 Chevrolet Silverado and damaged the ignition in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The incident occurred in between 11/28@1800-11/29@0900.

Warrant arrest – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1938 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 51-year-old transient woman for an outstanding warrant. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving under the influence – Central Ave. / Yosemite Ave:
At 0241 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 22-year-old San Francisco man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. During booking, the man told officers that he wanted officers to kill him because his life was over. The man was committed for a 72-hour mental health evaluation and was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

November 30th

Stolen Vehicle Recovery- 500 Block of Clayton Ave:
At 0844 hours, an officer responded to a suspicious vehicle detail. Upon arrival, he discovered the victim’s Subaru had been reported stolen to the Vallejo PD on 11/28/16.

Warrant Arrest – State Ave. / S. 52nd Ave. S.52nd:
Around 1246 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 54-year-old transient for an outstanding San Leandro PD warrant. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving under the influence, Collision – Fairmount Ave. / Carlson Blvd:
At 1733 hours, officers were dispatched to the area for two food trucks that collided while parking at “Off the Grid”. Officers determined the cause of the collision and spoke with the driver of one of the involved trucks. While speaking with the 32-year-old San Francisco man, officers found that he was intoxicated. A passenger in the second food truck fell because of the collision and suffered no visible injury. The man was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. After booking, the man was released to a sober friend.

Driving under the influence – San Pablo Ave. / Huntington Ave:
At 0007 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 43-year-old El Cerrito man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto burglary – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
Between 0351 and 0420 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s front windshield and pried open her passenger door to steal property from inside.

December 1st

Auto Burglary-2600 Block of Mira Vista Dr:
An officer reported an unknown suspect shattered the window of the victim’s driver door to gain entry. The incident occurred in between 11/30@2015-12/1@0830 hours. No loss reported.

Auto Burglary- 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
A Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed property. The theft occurred in between 1315-1323 hours.

Resisting an Officer- San Pablo Ave./ Eastshore Blvd:
At 1630 hours, an officer noticed a male jump out of a car and crossed into a lane of traffic. The officer attempted to catch up the 28-year-old male from Richmond. The male ran from the officer and led him on a short foot pursuit to the Del Norte BART station where another officer was able to detain the male. After booking, male was released on a citation.

Driving under the influence – 10200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 2223 hours, an officer noticed a man asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle. Upon further inspection, the man’s rear right tire was shredded down to the rim. The officer woke the man and found that he was under the influence of marijuana. The officer arrested the 25-year-old San Ramon man, booked him at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released him to a sober friend.
