Tar River Regional Drug Task Force makes narcotics arrest after traffic stop

Location: Red Bud Road near Highway 58, Castalia, North Carolina

On 12/05/2016, the Tar River Regional Drug Task Force (TRRDTF) conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford F-150 extended cab truck for displaying a fictitious registration plate. During the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was identified as SEAN JASON HARSTINE (W/M, 30) and the passenger as CRYSTAL MARIE PATE (W/F, 31) both of Lucama, North Carolina. During the traffic stop, the TRRDTF conducted a search of the occupants and the vehicle. The search resulted in the locating of the 18.6 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE), 9.5 grams of Cocaine, 3 Clonazepam (Klonopin) tablets, a suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) strip, a digital scale, and numerous syringes.
SEAN JASON HARSTINE was charged with one count of PWIMSD Methamphetamine, PWISD Cocaine, Maintain a Vehicle for Controlled Substance, Resist/Obstruct/Delay, No Operator’s License, and Simple Possession of Schedule IV. SEAN JASON HARSTINE was placed into the Nash County Detention Center under a $175,000.00 secured bond.
CRYSTAL MARIE PATE was charged with one count of PWIMSD Methamphetamine, PWISD Cocaine, Simple Possession of Schedule III, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. CRYSTAL MARIE PATE was placed into the Nash County Detention Center under a $120,000.00 secured bond.
First court appearance was set for Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Nashville District Court. No further information at this time.
