Montclair Police officers were negotiating with an armed barricaded subject inside their vehicle in the parking lot of 4490 Holt Blvd. For public safety, residents and businesses had been evacuated or asked to shelter in place. The subject has now cooperated and been detained and the evacuation request has been lifted.
No further information regarding the circumstances of the subject arming himself are known at this time.
