Police Blotter November 14th through November 17th

November 14th

Possession of a Controlled Substance- 1751 Eastshore Blvd.
At 1425 hours, an officer conducted a security check of the old OSH building. The officer located a male at the rear of the building and found him to be in possession of a controlled substance. The 63 year old male transient was released on a citation out in the field.

Residential Burglary – 6100 block of Jordan Avenue
At 1942 hours, officers were dispatched to the listed address after the resident saw a figure jump the fence into her neighbor’s backyard. Officers arrived on scene and located a ladder against the home with a window screen on the ground and an open window. Officers cleared the residence and confirmed a burglary occurred. Officers cleared the backyard next to the residence and located muddy shoe prints on the deck.

Under the Influence and Possession of Burglary Tools – Liberty Street and Hill Street
At 2342 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 25 year old male from Richmond for being under the influence and for being in possession of shaved keys.

November 15th

Hit and Run/Driving on Suspended License S.55th and School St.
At approximately 1626 hours, officers patrolling in the area noticed a suspicious vehicle. As the officers made a u-turn to try and catch up with the vehicle to initiate a traffic enforcement stop, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. When the officers caught up with the vehicle at S. 55th and Merced St., they noticed the vehicle had collided into a park vehicle. They noticed a female running from the vehicle. The 44 year old female resident of Richmond was detained by officers and placed under arrest for hit and run. During booking at the El Cerrito Police station, it was discovered her driver license was suspended. After booking, the female was released on a citation.

Drunk in Public – San Pablo Ave. / Madison Ave.
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 45 year old male from Richmond after the male was seen falling off his bike and was too intoxicated to care from himself. The male was transported to county jail.

Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 38 year old female from Richmond for an outstanding warrant. The female was issued a citation and released.

November 16th

Shoplifting- 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky)
At 1327 hours, officers were dispatched to an in progress theft. Dispatch advised Lucky employees followed a male to the BART platform after witnessing him leave the store with unpaid merchandise. Upon officers’ arrival the 32 year old male was placed under Citizen’s Arrest by store employee. The male was issued a citation and released in the field.

Vehicle Pursuit- Richmond St/Moeser Ln.
At 1620 hours, Officers observed a known car thief driving a gray 4-door Honda in the area and attempted to catch up to him. The vehicle fled from officers and a short pursuit ensued but was quickly terminated. The vehicle was located a short time later and it was discovered the vehicle was a reported stolen vehicle.

Under the Influence and Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Avenue and Wall Avenue
At 1945 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 47 year old male from Richmond for being in possession of a controlled substance and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Armed Robbery – BART Path and Hill Street
At 2149 hours, officers were dispatched to a man down at 1700 block Lexington Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and located the victim at Blake Street and Lexington Avenue. The victim was bleeding profusely from his head and advised he was robbed near the Del Norte BART station and the suspect struck him with a stick or two by four. The victim was transported to Alta Bates hospital.

Strong Armed Robbery – BART Path and Donal Street
At 2201 hours, an officer reports the victim was walking on the BART Path near Donal Avenue when she was approached from behind by two subjects. The subject pushed the victim against a BART pillar and removed her purse from her shoulder and took her phone out her hand. The males then fled the area north on the BART path.

Warrant Arrest – Knott Avenue and Kearney Street
At 2321 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 29 year old female from Richmond, for an outstanding warrant. The female was booked and transported to county jail.

Poss. Of a Stolen Vehicle, Poss. Of a Cntl. Substance, Poss .Of a Drug Paraphernalia - 6060 Central Avenue (Nation’s)
At 2330 hours, an officer located an occupied stolen vehicle. The driver, a 35 year old male from Richmond, was taken into custody without incident. The male was also in possession of a smoking device used to smoke a controlled substance and in possession of a controlled substance. The male also had mail and other property belonging to other persons.

Stolen Vehicle and Evasion – San Pablo Avenue and Wall Avenue
At 0257 hours, an officer attempted to stop an occupied stolen vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield and fled from the officer leading the officer on a short pursuit which was terminated due to the reckless driving of the suspect.

Stolen Vehicle and Evasion – San Pablo Avenue and I-80
At 0308 hours, an officer attempted to stop an occupied stolen vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield and fled from the officer leading the officer on a pursuit. The officer exited the pursuit but a local police agency continued to pursue the vehicle and eventually stopped it and apprehended the driver.

November 17th

Warrant Arrest - S. 53rd and School St.
At 1025 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 53 year old male for an outstanding warrant.

Armed Robbery – Fairmount Avenue and BART Path
At 2239 hours, officers responded to an armed robbery. The victim was approached by four males who pushed him off his bike and brandished a knife. The suspects took the male’s bike, wallet and cell phone and fled the area. The males were located near the Safeway and taken into custody. The males still had the victim’s property. The males were booked and then transported to Juvenile Hall.

Warrant Arrest – 6400 Cutting Boulevard
At 2030 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 29 year old male from Vallejo for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and then transported to county jail.
