HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Homicide investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office continue to seek information regarding the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of four year old Ava Castillo, and the shooting of her mother and ten year sister during an apparent robbery.

Previous reports that a suspect or person of interest was taken into the Sheriff’s Office custody were unsubstantiated. Forensic examinations of a weapon recovered from an earlier scene were not confirmed to be involved with the murder of Castillo.

Homicide investigators are seeking information relating to a vehicle suspected to have been driven by the suspect(s) during the course of the homicide and robbery. Investigators are searching for a black Honda Accord bearing license plate GBV0987. The vehicle was taken in a reported carjacking at approximately 6:45 PM on the date of the incident.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is leveraging its available resources in order to locate the vehicle and identify the suspect(s).
